The Modernity Dilemmas and Development Paths of Aesthetic Education in Rural Schools

Abstract：

Aesthetic education in rural schools is a vital component of building a strong nation through education. Under the impact of the tide of modernity, it faces multiple dilemmas: an imbalanced allocation of resources brought about by technological acceleration, a loss of values caused by the spread of instrumental rationality, and the dissolution of the field of local culture triggered by the discontinuity of modernity. Taking the theory of modernity as its analytical framework, this paper reveals the generative logic of these dilemmas, and further proposes a four-dimensional development path—upholding a people-oriented concept, strengthening institutional safeguards, taking deep root in traditional culture, and reinforcing scientific support—with a view to promoting the innovative development of aesthetic education in rural schools.
