Industrial Competitiveness Strategies under Japan's GX2040 Vision and China's International Competition in Green Industries ——A Comparative Analysis of Storage Batteries, Photovoltaics, and Hydrogen

Abstract:
This paper compares Japan's industrial competitiveness strategy under the GX2040 Vision with China’s international competitive positioning in green industries, using storage batteries, photovoltaics, and hydrogen as analytical cases. Japan's strategy is characterized by a "next-generation technology bet" and supply chain security logic, while China’s approach relies on "scale advantage locking" and whole-chain control. The analysis reveals that the two countries occupy different positions in the global green industry value chain and face asymmetric competitive pressures, with far-reaching implications for the evolving landscape of international green industrial competition.
