Integrating the Chinese Sports Spirit into Ideological and Political Education in Higher Education through Five Education Integration

Abstract：

Five-Education Integration connects moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetic, and labor education to support holistic student development. This paper develops a conceptual framework for integrating the Chinese sports spirit into ideological and political education in higher education. It examines value alignment, sport as an educational medium, the embedding of values in practice, and continuity between formal and extracurricular learning. It proposes curriculum integration in the first classroom, experiential learning in the second classroom, and institutional coordination between them. Implementation requires coherent objectives, contextual teaching, reflective assessment, faculty collaboration, and sustained participation. Sport can connect the five educational dimensions when universities intentionally relate sporting experiences to students' understanding and conduct. Its contribution depends on pedagogical design and coordinated practice, rather than participation alone.
